This educational video on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder treatment addresses the enormous problem of trauma and trauma resolution. Trauma has always been with us, but has been on the rise in the last decade. The Oklahoma City bombing and the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York on 9/11 are only the most sensational in the United States. As terrorism continues to grow it becomes imperative to truly understand the intricacies of this mental health disorder.


Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has been known by many names in the past. Shell Shock, Battle Fatigue, Gulf War Syndrome are but a few. In essence Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is delayed grieving due to an overwhelming trauma or stress. It can also be caused by numerous less severe traumas experienced over time. Luckily, new treatment modalities have been discovered in the past 10 years that relieve PTSD quickly and with much less painful emotion than more conventional therapies. This educational video presents all of these new treatments.


The other self-help videos in the series include Dysfunctional Families, Boundaries, Codependency, Chemical Dependence, Communication and Assertiveness, Love Addiction and Parenting. Each video in this series describes in detail a major psychological and behavioral problem suffered by a significant amount of people in the general population. The signs and symptoms of each disorder are delineated and solutions to those problems are addressed by Jef Gazley, LMFT. Jef has worked as a teacher and psychotherapist in the trauma field for over 33 years. These videos have been approved for continuing education credit at the rate of 1 ceu each by NBCC.
